The Tools Behind Ookami Studio's Timber Handle Designs
At Ookami Studio, every handle starts with a simple sketch. Before it becomes a finished piece of hardware, it begins as an idea—refined by hand, shaped by precision, and ultimately transformed into a functional work of art.
So, what tools do we use to design our handles?
Just the basics: a protractor, compass, ruler, pencil, pen, and sharpener.
That’s it.
No complex software or automated processes—just a designer, a blank page, and the tools needed to bring our concepts to life.
Once the design is finalised, it moves to our moulding team, where it takes its first step toward becoming a tangible piece. From there, each handle is crafted with precision, ensuring it meets the quality and aesthetic standards Ookami Studio is known for.
What's Next for Ookami Studio?
Our latest timber handle collections, including the Arc Handle and Moonbeam, showcase this commitment to design and craftsmanship.
- Arc Handle – An evolution of the half-moon with a creative cutout, just like an Arc.
- Moonbeam – An elongated version of the half-moon, just not as deep. Sizes up to 500mm long. Perfect for wardrobes and larger doors.
With upcoming additions like 500mm timber handles and new oak and walnut finishes, we continue to push the boundaries of timber hardware.
